In today's world of the dynamic, fast moving global economy and organizations distributed across multiple locations, people need to interact with each other on a continuous basis, as easily as possible.
IP-Interact for Windows supports facilitated real-time virtual meetings. The meeting participants are at different locations and use Windows PC's connected via an IP network.
IP-Interact provides an integrated meeting environment that:
- uses a disciplined dialogue process to effectively manage the group dialogue;
- utilizes the software capabilities of Synplex, with the enhancements enabled by the IP environment, to manage and structure the information used by the meeting participants;
- offers audio, video, and shared data capabilities;
- ensures secure information exchange between the participants.
Security:
Only people invited to participate can connect to the meeting. During the meeting, all communications between participants are encrypted for security.Information files created are secured so that after the meeting they can only be accessed by authorized people.
Compatibility:
IP-Interact is compatible with MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Project. Outputs are in standard MS-type formats and can be used with any MS-compatible product.
Networks:
IP-Interact can use external networks, e.g. Sprint / Global One Global Web Conferencing.
Communication Features:
With sufficient capacity in the IP network, the meeting participants have:
- high quality audio connection that allows for everyone to be heard;
- on-screen video picture of the person speaking;
- shared screen that displays the information being used by the group.
The type of information which can be input by each participant is not restricted to text information only. Graphics, spread sheets, reports, etc. can be included, viewed, and edited by all participants.
The meeting is under the control of a designated facilitator who has the software capabilities to manage interactions in the meeting. This includes:
- managing the group dialogue;
- selecting, analysing, and structuring the information;
- creating the influence map which represents the interactions between key factors affecting the issue.
Each participant has a set of icons on their PC screen that allows them to select which video picture to display. The default is the video of the person currently speaking in the meeting but if they wish to watch someone else (e.g. to monitor ‘body-language’), then they have that option.
The IP-Interact application resides on a server and each participant has a ‘client’ software package on his/her PC. For the video component, each PC needs to have a small video camera. The person setting up the meeting would notify participants of the time of the meeting and provide an IP address for participants to connect to.
